Leeds City College is looking for a Vocational Facilitator to train learners in multiskills, for its new campus: The Foundry. The Foundry is an alternative provision for some of the most vulnerable, challenging and hard to reach young people in Leeds. You will therefore need to be resilient, patient and adaptable, being able to create a structured and supportive learning environment in which young people are enabled to reach their full potential.

The role provides a great opportunity for multi skilled trades people wishing to move into training to broaden their skills, enabling them to deliver a range of engaging and informative training programmes which will include elements of course development and design.

You will be required to:

  • Plan, organise and deliver a vocational competency based curriculum up to Level 2
  • Ensure the safeguarding of learners
  • Ensure that learner records are accurate and maintained in line with data protection and college policies
  • Participate in continual professional development to ensure skills remain in line with industry sector best practice
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a minimum L3 qualification in relevant subject specific area - Essential
  • Hold a minimum level 2 qualification in literacy/ numeracy or be willing to work towards
  • Have experience in the relevant vocational area - Essential
  • Achievement of quality targets, including those related to recruitment, retention and achievement - Essential
  • Produce accurate and timely reports - Essential
  • Positive contribution to department planning & development processes - Essential
  • Positive team working - Essential
