Assessor / Lecturer - Construction Professionals (LB121)

Full time and part time applications are welcome

The Construction and Built Environment team at Solihull serves a broad range of leading infrastructure providers, consultants and contractors. It provides specialist training to Advanced and Higher Apprentices in Construction, Civil and Building Services Engineering, as well as full time courses at Levels 3, 4 and 5 for learners motivated to enter the construction industry in a range of professional roles. With over 150 students studying at Level 3 and a further 100 students at HNC/HND, this is a rapidly growing area focussed on delivering the needs of local employers. Our students are of all ages and from all areas of the broader construction industry.

Due to the success and continuing growth of the team, an exciting opportunity has emerged for the right people to join us as Lecturers and/or Work-based Assessors. The successful applicant(s) will be a self-motivated professional person from a construction background who is committed to developing the skills of young adults as well as mature students.

The role will include all or parts of the following:

  • Lecturing at Level 3, 4 and 5
  • Lecturing in Building Services, Construction and Civil Engineering
  • Assessing apprentices at their work place in a wide range of Construction employers

Additional courses in Building Control, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying and Architecture are also being considered as part of the new HNC/HND programme.

Applications are highly encouraged from experienced Lecturers/Assessors from construction backgrounds, or from construction professionals looking to move into education. Flexible arrangements will be considered to suit individual circumstances. Training will be available to applicants with suitable backgrounds in the construction sector.
