40 weeks term time per year, maternity cover up to June 2019. 

Responsible to the Manager Assessment and Out of Class Support, you will be required to work across the College to co-ordinate the provision of support for Deaf or Hard of Hearing learners including BSL and assistive technologies. This will involve the following key areas of responsibility: initial guidance and assessment; develop cost effective support plans; referral to the FE Managers to finalise and service individual support plans; personal delivery of support; monitoring/reviewing of learners’ progress and achievements (including conversion and review process for the Education Health and Care Plans, and Individual Study Programmes); and an active co-ordination role across the College to ensure that the ALS service’s impact in relation to Deaf or Hard of Hearing learners is effectively reviewed to drive continuous improvement.

With a Degree or evidence of ability to work at a higher education level and a recognised teaching qualification you will also possess an appropriate teaching qualification for the Deaf and hold a Level 6 Certificate in British Sign Language.

You must be able to demonstrate proven experience of teaching/assessing and have a broad experience of writing assessments, setting targets, supporting, monitoring impact, value added and outcomes for learners in an inclusive learning environment.
