The job will be a hands on role, based at Milton Keynes within Production, Sub Assembly, Product Assembly Lines, Logistics, Service, Test & Development. The successful applicant will develop into a top class practical Manufacturing Technician with expert knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic assembly, linked to developing, building and servicing the Niftylift product range.
During the 4 year programme, students will develop their practical skills in the role of Trainee Manufacturing Technician and on successful completion of the training programme / apprenticeship, full time employment may be offered in the following position:
Production / Assembly - Manufacturing Technician
This role requires adaptable team players with a proven skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical installation. The role requires operating to high quality / workmanship standards, within a manufacturing cell / flow line production environment. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing / production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics / materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, fitting / fabrication, service / maintenance and development).

Desired qualifications:
Minimum of 3 GCSE's (or equivalent): Grade 3 (D) or above in Maths, Grade 3 (E) or above in English and Science
Candidates with a Level 2 or equivalent Engineering qualification may be considered for our Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship
This position is suitable for all school leavers and predicted grades will be acceptable
Training:
The Apprenticeship framework (based at MK College):
The Level 2 Diploma will be delivered on a day release basis, and will be delivered as a mix of workshop and classroom training, with an emphasis on the development of practical skills.
Learners would enrol on a Level 2 Apprenticeship framework, specifically, Improving Operational Performance (code 504) and complete:
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO)
- EAL Level 2 Award in Industrial Environmental Awareness (IEA)

- Mathematics Functional Skills - Level 1 or 2
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills - Level 2
- Award in Employment Rights and Responsibilities - Level 2

EAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations - Delivered over 1 year
