Working week: 39 hours per week

We are seeking someone to be a support to clients, team of hairdressers and the salon in helping provide excellent client service, help with welcoming procedures, housekeeping and training in technical skills as a hairdresser.

Current team of 4 stylists and 1 apprentice, we are hoping to add to our team. Including one on one training with our Salon Director in addition to the college day, we are keen to help train apprentices to be an excellent support to the operation of the salon on a day to day basis, train how to develop future client base, client service and to inspire your career path by taking part in the in-salon training on new techniques, cuts, styles & colours.

A small friendly salon, with a proud family feel with our clients, our standards of client service, training and team support are what we are proud of.

Responsibilities:

  • Shampooing and conditioning hair
  • Taking care of clients including providing refreshments, magazines, gowning and general comfort
  • Making sure towels and supplies are ready for use
  • Keeping the salon clean and tidy
  • Greeting clients and visitors to the salon
  • Assisting stylists with preparing clients for and during the service provided; this may include removing colours and blow drying under supervision.

Desired qualifications:

  • No formal hairdressing qualifications are required, as full training will be given.
  • Desirable - Grade C/4 and above in both Maths and English (or equivalent)

Training:

Full Apprenticeship Standard in Hairdressing Professionals

  • Teaching assessments and observations in the workplace.
  • Ongoing training and support from the employer.
  • College attendance (Bletchley Campus).
  • Functional Skills (if required).
  • Demonstrate the professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills along with safe working practices.
  • End point assessment.
