Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre in Willoughby, Warwickshire, is a custodial establishment for Children and Young People (CYP),aged between the ages of 12 and 18 and has an operational capacity of 76. All CYP work towards English and Maths qualifications, as well as ICT, PSD, PE and vocational pathways which include Hair and Beauty, creative arts,hospitality and catering, sports studies and horticulture. We also provide enrichment outside of the standard education delivery.
We have a great opportunity at Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre to join the education team as a Learning Support Practitioner on a permanent, part time (29.6 per week) basis.
The purpose of this role is to promote progression and independent learning by delivering high quality, literacy, language and numeracy, learner-focused learning support to meet contractual requirements and standards. Assist the teacher/trainer in managing the behaviour of individual learners by using engaging and inclusive learning experiences and de-escalation methods. This is a challenging but rewarding role and we need someone who is flexible and resilient, with the ability to encourage, engage and motivate, to help give children and young people a brighter future. To do this successfully you'll need:
- To have an understanding of how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
- To have a track record of working effectively with peoplepresenting challenging behaviour
- To hold or be willing to work towards a level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners within an agreed timescale
