The Curriculum Area Manager - Maths and English is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to lead on curriculum development and innovation within the Maths and English department.

The Maths and English department at Reaseheath College has experienced significant growth and improvements in performance in recent years. The College has over 1,000 learners studying GCSE Maths and/or English, over 200 learners studying Functional Skills, and also delivers L3 Core Maths to the College's Technical Baccalaureate learners.

In recent years, the Maths and English department has realised significant improvements in key performance outcomes, improving overall GCSE achievement rates, 9-4 achievement rates and DfE Maths and English progress data.

The department supports the development of literacy and numeracy skills in all of the College's learners through the creation and implementation of 'Cross-College Commitments', and through the delivery of Maths and English CPD to the wider staff body. You will raise levels of student progress and achievement by identifying, exemplifying and promoting with colleagues best practice in the delivery of teaching and learning, inspiring and supporting others to achieve beyond their expectations.

You will formulate and deliver development activities for other staff, developing a culture of professional development, and be committed to constant promotion of high standards. You will work with the College's Executive team providing advice on the creation and implementation of relevant policies and key strategies.

Highly organised and methodical in your approach, you will share your skills and knowledge with staff and learners, and utilise your experience to motivate students to achieve, ideally whilst developing and maintaining high levels of student progress.
