We are seeking to appoint inspirational and innovative teachers in ESOL within our busy Curriculum Area of ESOL, Adult English and Maths.
These posts are based at either the Dewsbury or Huddersfield centre of Kirklees College and may involve working from community venues. Please clarify in your application which post you are applying for.
The successful candidates will need experience in teaching English as a second language, from complete beginners to higher levels. Experience of teaching 16-18s and adults in a College and/or community environment is essential, as well as bringing and delivering creative and imaginative approaches to learners including the use of digital technologies to promote independence in learning.
You will be passionate about your subject and have the ability and desire to enthuse others. You will be organised and experienced in course administration and have high expectations of both yourself and your students.

Enabling students to be successful in this area is a high priority within the Faculty, and you will become an integral part of a teaching team with a drive and determination to continually raise standards in this vital subject area.
The qualifications deemed essential for these posts are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C), a subject specialist qualification in teaching a second language and a Level 5 teaching qualification or the willingness to undertake this in a specified timescale. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
