Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Newcastle and Penrith.
We are now looking to recruit for a HR Assistant to join us to provide varied and general administrative support to the HR team. This is a part time role to cover 18.5 hours per week.
Supporting the recruitment and selection process by placing adverts, processing invoices and carrying out pre-employment checks, you must input vacancies to the on-line recruitment system and arrange short-listing and interview packs; contacting candidates and managers and producing employment contracts.
Responsible for undertaking Disclosure and Barring Scheme checks and maintaining the College’s Single Central Record relating to this, you must update the College’s integrated HR and Payroll system in a suitably timely fashion, given payroll deadlines and provide administrative support for various HR processes including leavers, maternity leave, paternity leave, other forms of special leave, induction process and probation procedures.
With experience in providing excellent customer service and of developing documents to meet a variety of needs, candidates will ideally have experience of working in an office environment or a setting where maintaining confidentially is paramount. A competent user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, you should have strong administrative and clerical skills and a highly organised approach to work.
