Once the post transitions into a lecturing role, the post holder will be involved in preparing and delivering tutorials and lectures, demonstrating clinical techniques and supervising and supporting students within undergraduate student practice clinics. The post will also involve mentoring and supporting students as a personal tutor as well as supporting the management of the student placement programme. The assessment of student performance will also be a key part of this role as will the ongoing development of curriculum to enhance the student experience and identify new learning opportunities.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or diploma in a relevant health area, be eligible for General Optical Council (GOC) registration as an Optometrist and have relevant experience in the optometry education sector and/or relevant optometry practice or hospital experience.
