An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gower College Swansea for an innovative inspiring leader to join the highly successful Learning Area for Health and Care. This is a high performing area with many standards of excellence across the provision. One of the largest Learning Areas in the College, the curriculum includes programmes across levels 1 – 5, with exciting opportunities for further development in response to the Qualification Wales review. Staff based in both our Tycoch and Gorseinon campuses are passionate and committed in ensuring the 1000+ learners in this area achieve their full potential, through a holistic curriculum delivery supported by extensive links with stakeholders across the sector.

Working closely with the Learning Area Manager, you will assist with the planning and management of the Learning Area to include curriculum, quality, budgeting, staff and learner management. The Assistant Learning Area Manager will support the Learning Area Manager in leading staff to ensure the highest standards of quality are achieved with a clear focus on excellent teaching and learning, raising standards and responding to learner needs.

Already holding a degree or equivalent in a related discipline and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), you will participate in a Leadership and Management development programme.

With knowledge of current issues facing FE Colleges, you will have an understanding of FE funding methodologies including HE, WBL, 14-16 and experience of developing curriculum to enhance progression and employability prospects.
