About You

Are you a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team? Do you have excellent interpersonal and communications skills? Coventry College are looking for three experienced Achievement Coaches to join our team.

An excellent communicator, you will provide pastoral support and guidance to a caseload of students therefore excellent interpersonal skills will be essential to this role.

Educated to level 2 in Maths and English qualifications you will have a relevant qualification in Teaching, Youth Work and Guidance.

About the role

In this exciting and key role you will provide pastoral support and guidance to a case load of students, linked to specific curriculum areas, through group tutorials. You will assist students with overcoming their individual barriers to success and help to develop their wider social and employability skills. You will also work with students to improve their communication and ensure they have access to the “learner voice”.

You will develop and deliver a comprehensive group tutorial programme for students to support their health, wellbeing, personal and social development. In addition, you will hold regular one to one meetings with students to review their development and progress, utilising the ProMonitor system.  You will also support the monitoring of attendance and punctuality and to maintain appropriate accurate records including registers and student destination data.

You will work closely with tutors, parents/guardians, Learning Mentors and any other person(s) that engage with students to put a clear plan in place for students who are at risk of not achieving.

To provide a cross college induction to students within identified caseload to establish opportunities, standards and expectations as well as providing information regarding the availability of support services.

This role could be based at either City or Henley campus and at times there may be a requirement to work across both campuses.
