Peterborough sits within a Higher Education Cold Spot and is one of the largest conurbations in the UK without a university. The creation of a University in the City is a longstanding aspiration which forms part of the devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The establishment of the proposed University is a long term undertaking, which will be built on the current activities of the University Centre Peterborough (UCP).

UCP therefore seeks to appoint an HE Curriculum Leader in Education who will drive the development of an exciting curriculum for the students of today and tomorrow.

The Curriculum Lead will play an integral role in both shaping and implementing the University for Peterborough Curriculum Strategy. Within this role you will be responsible for the BA Education top up degree and teach mainly on Higher Education Programmes as well as developing future Education based programmes for the primary and secondary sector which may include Degree Apprenticeships. The key duties of our Higher Education Curriculum Leads include:

  • To be responsible for meeting recruitment targets and conversion of applicants for the area, including engaging in interviews, open days and outreach activities, and specific curriculum events as well as regular contact with potential students. 
  • Teaching innovation. 
  • Student experience and satisfaction. 
  • Adherence to academic regulations.

Essential requirements are a Level 7 (Masters Level) or above qualification or equivalent in the relevant area, and suitable industrial experience. A teaching qualification at Level 5 or above is essential for this role and QTS would be highly advantageous. Experience within the primary or secondary education sector is highly desirable. You will be a professional, who can quickly build relationships, with excellent organisation and planning ability.

*The salary is pro-rata of £28,855 to £34,430. There is a further £1,632 (£2,040) market allowance for holding a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Health and Social Care.
