Peterborough sits within a Higher Education Cold Spot and is one of the largest conurbations in the UK without a university. The creation of a University in the City is a longstanding aspiration which forms part of the devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The establishment of the proposed University is a long term undertaking, which will be built on the current activities of the University Centre Peterborough (UCP).
Our vision is for Peterborough to establish a thriving, independent, campus-based university with an undergraduate population of students, which will become a powerhouse for economic and intellectual growth, outward looking but rooted in the ingenuity and diversity of its people.
