At Askham Bryan College we are passionate about animals, the future of farming and all things landbased. Our passion doesn’t stop there. The dynamic HR and Payroll team are committed to providing a first class service and thrive on making improvements.
Joining us as a Payroll and Pensions Assistant, you will provide varied and general administrative support to the Payroll Services Manager, and assist with the collation of data to feed into the College’s payroll and pension processes.
Entering staff variable-pay timesheets into our HR and payroll system and transmitting the information to the payroll bureau provider on a monthly basis, you will support front-end payroll-related tasks under the direction and supervision of the Payroll Services Manager.
You will provide support to staff in accessing the HR and Payroll system for functions such as payslips and self-service, assist the Payroll Services Manager with the creation and distribution of reports from the system, and provide a friendly and helpful first point of contact in the payroll team.
A competent user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook and able to develop and maintain spreadsheets from scratch, you should have strong administrative skills and be capable of interrogating and reporting on data from an HR/Payroll system. With a systematic and accurate approach to record keeping and the ability to input and extract data to a high degree of accuracy, you will have a friendly and polite manner in dealing with people at all levels in the organisation and have a flexible approach to your work.
We are a small and relatively new team who get stuck in together to get things done. If you share our passion for improving our service and going that extra mile we would love to hear from you. Our hard work is rewarded with a range of generous benefits. We enjoy 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Did we mention the beautiful rural setting?
Successful candidates will require an enhanced DBS check
