Our Stakeholder Engagement service area are looking to recruit a Partnerships and Careers Team Leader, this exciting opportunity would be responsible for overseeing the careers team service for all students. Also to drive recruitment to further and higher education programmes promoting learning at B&FC.

Principal Duties:

  1. To be responsible for implementing and overseeing the careers service for all students including financial support
  2. To drive recruitment to further and higher education programmes through stretching targets and sophisticated relationship building with stakeholders
  3. To develop and maintain a strategy for engagement with existing students, in consultation with the Partnership and Careers Manager, Directorate for Students and to liaise with the College curriculum areas.
  4. To develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of student support funds and the financial circumstances of the student population and how best to meet their pastoral and academic needs
  5. Set and monitor existing student contact targets and provide management with regular reporting by curriculum area and socio-demographics
  6. To manage the day-to-day operations of the devolved non-pay budget available for careers and liaison including the preparation of promotional leaflets and material for recruitment and careers events in collaboration with marketing colleagues
  7. To be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of College outreach activities, and setting targets in liaison with PCM.
  8. To oversee the delivery of outreach activities in schools, summer schools, new student days, competitions and contact with head teachers, HE advisors, teachers and students for the purposes of enhancing student intake and raising awareness of B&FC.
  9. To be responsible for effective liaison and joint operation as required with central teams in Apprenticeships, LSFC, Energy HQ, FWNC, Health and Care Career Academy.
  10. To lead the implementation of ambassador programmes, to ensure representation of appropriate role models to prospective students.
  11. To lead the implementation of community and third sector outreach with particular attention given to opportunities in adult returner recruitment to HE programmes
  12. To ensure the team are well represented at recruitment events, including local schools, sixth form colleges, FE Colleges and College Open Days and recruitment events
  13. To facilitate curriculum involvement with outreach activities, through training and provision of resources.
  14. To ensure design of outreach activities is based on cutting edge research occurring within the organisation and demonstrate the impact relevant to the audience and research.
  15. To co-create exciting e-learning resources for students and staff development events for staff surrounding careers education, information advice and guidance
  16. To share careers best-practice with a network of external school careers leads and agencies such as the Careers and Enterprise Company
  17. To manage outreach and widening participation projects and the associated project funded staff, and provide management with an evidence base for reporting.

  2. To support the annual self-assessment exercise in order to monitor and evaluate performance, to bring about year on year improvement.
  3. To support the recruitment and selection process and be responsible for the development and annual performance management of staff.
  4. To support the management and allocation of resources effectively and efficiently to high standards expected in the public services.
  5. To establish effective communication within and outside the college.
  6. To maintain and improve Health & Safety standards in the area of responsibility.
  7. To establish and secure quality improvement and support an annual Quality Improvement Plan
