Business Studies and Travel and Tourism Hourly Paid Lecturer

As part of the ongoing development and growth of our Business Studies and Travel and Tourism provision at HLC, we are seeking to appoint a part time (hourly paid) teacher.

Business Studies and Travel and Tourism are both vibrant and highly successful subject areas in our Further Education College. We currently follow the BTEC specifications for both Level 2 and Level 3 programmes. The subject teams contain experienced staff who achieve very good success rates with our students. We would like to build upon this and appoint a dynamic, innovative and student-centred teacher who can motivate and manage this provision.

Teachers in both departments work closely together following a common programme and using a variety of methods. The departments are well resourced and the teams are supportive. Emphasis is placed on sharing best practice and liaising over schemes of work. The role would include lesson preparation, delivering and assessment for timetabled lessons over 2 days for up to 8 hours on the L2 Business Studies programme, and 2 hours on the L3 Travel and Tourism programme.

As part of your role you may have the opportunity to accompany students on visits both locally and nationally.
