What is this role and where does it fit in?

Based at Royal Holloway, University of London, the International Study Centre (ISC) delivers a one year Foundation Programme preparing international students for progression to undergraduate degrees. Our students enroll onto different pathways depending on their degree progression. We have three pathways: Arts and Social Sciences; Management and Economics; Sciences.

Working in partnership with the University, we at Study Group are seeking a well-qualified and experienced academic subject teacher in the area of Psychology on our Sciences Pathway. The role is varied and involves curriculum development, teaching and monitoring student progress. As part of your role, and working with the Head of Academic Subject, you will be responsible for developing the curriculum that is delivered, ensuring this is benchmarked correctly to level 3 and in line with the various undergraduate psychology programmes on offer at the university.

What experience do you need?

  • A relevant first degree, with a Masters desirable.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (desirable).
  • Experience of teaching at Level 3 (A-level equivalent), preferably in a further education environment.
  • Experience of teaching in an international context.
  • Ability to develop and update teaching material.
  • Experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment.

Where is this role based?

Royal Holloway is located in Egham, Surrey, a quiet, student-friendly town. Although the campus is only 40 minutes from central London by train, the surroundings are a world away from the busy capital. Situated in 135 acres, and close to Runnymede National Trust Park, the College provides excellent facilities. The office has an excellent vibe, full of fun and friendly people, all passionate about the centre and international education.
