We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and outstanding Qualified Electrician who can make a real contribution to our strategic plan. Our aspiration is to become an outstanding provider in Surrey. Nescot College will see significant investment and growth in the next few years, adding to its existing portfolio of STEM provision, making it one of the most exciting places to teach in Surrey. Having recently invested over £30 million in our facilities to provide our students with access to the best facilities and equipment, we are seeking to ensure that our students are skill ready when they leave the door and are armed with an understanding of the current developments in the relevant technical disciplines.

Successful candidates will be required to deliver qualifications to both Students and apprentices in both workshop and classroom.  There is also an opportunity for an exceptional candidate to be offer remission for section leader duties, which will involve supporting the Head of Department in monitoring outcomes for learners and quality of provision.

Applicants should have an industry recognised level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation competencies or equivalent. Experience and knowledge of renewable/sustainable technology installations would be advantageous for prospective applicants, as would 17th Edition Inspection & Testing qualifications.

You will teach and assess students who are currently studying for Electrical Installation levels 1, 2 and 3 including Apprenticeships.  Other provision includes 17th Edition, Inspection and Test; PAT testing courses and courses relating to Building Services Engineering.

Applicants should have experience of teaching and assessing in this area and knowledge of the current standards and frameworks. Applicants should hold their A1 Award (or equivalent) and a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards both of these). V1 (IQA) is desirable but not essential.

New applicants direct from industry will be welcome to apply as support will be made available to gain teaching & assessing qualifications.
