Peterborough Regional College is a large, successful college of further and higher education with an established employer and apprenticeship provision. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with Chemistry as a specialist subject to join our Science team.

If you are looking for a new challenge and would like to utilise your skills and experience whilst developing your own career, this role will be both rewarding and fulfilling. You will pass on your specialist knowledge, and will be developing skills for the future. Within this role you will teach Chemistry across a range of Science courses at all levels and the key duties of our Lecturers include:

  • Delivering high quality teaching and learning.
  • Guiding and supporting learners, providing pastoral support and care.
  • Providing appropriate assignment material for each programme and developing our contextual learning.
  • Monitoring the progress, retention and achievement of learners.

This role is variable hours, for approximately 8 hours per week. This position will be based at our Peterborough Park Crescent site.

Essential requirements are a degree or above and relevant industrial experience. Ideally, you will also have previous teaching experience. However, we welcome applications from people in industry, and will provide the necessary support to obtain your professional teaching qualification and assessor/verifier awards in-house. You will be a self starter, who can quickly build relationships, with excellent organisation and planning ability. This is a great opportunity to invest in the next generation of professionals.

*There is a further £1.06 market allowance for holding a degree qualification.

The College offers many good employment benefits including 37 days holiday entitlement plus Christmas close down (or additional payment for hourly employees), access to the Teachers Pension scheme, and many on-site benefits and facilities, including a gym and on-site nursery.
