Working week: Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm, 1 hour lunch break

We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our small, friendly and hard working team. You will be responsible for processing financial information in line with procedures and providing information for statutory returns for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and in order to provide information for statutory returns.
  • Investigation of enquiries from suppliers / customers and staff of clients and to provide assistance and advice as required.
  • To ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales.
  • To advise clients regarding charges and methods of payment where appropriate.
  • To record and evaluate costs and revenues.
  • To prepare a set of accounts and tax return.
  • To be able to maintain financial records and prepare accounts.
  • To have working knowledge of computerised accounting and taxation/ accounts production systems used within the Company.
  • Working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • To be conversant with databases and spreadsheets alongside accounting systems.
  • To present a professional attitude to clients at all times either in person or by telephone, fax and e-mail.
  • To complete admin tasks relating to company secretarial duties to include minutes, dividend vouchers, annual returns and any other admin associated with setting up of files and initial correspondence with new clients.
  • To assist with payroll preparation and year-end submissions after appropriate instruction.
  • Any other supplementary returns that may be client specific.

Desired qualifications:
