Apprenticeship level: Intermediate
Apprenticeship duration: 12 months
Possible start date: 9th July 2018
Working week: Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.15pm, 37.5 hours per week
The role will be split across the Dudley and Kidderminster sites.
Responsibilities:
- To assist the stainless, aluminium, flat products and long products purchasing teams
- Cover all product groups – S&A, long products, tubular and flat products
- Administrative type duties
- Raising purchase orders, checking order acknowledgements, booking in of stock at depots, order progression (chasing mills), checking order balances (and closing). Running reports on SAP, collation and checking of test certifications
- Any other administrative duties
- Attend and observe any meetings with suppliers alongside stock managers
- Stock management at depots – booking in
Desired skills:
Essential:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages Word / Excel / Outlook
- Good telephone manner
- Able to work with and without supervision
- Ability to successfully work to deadlines
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in an administration capacity
- Analytical, attention to detail, commercial acumen, ability to deal with people.
Personal qualities:
- Willingness to learn
Desired qualifications:
Essential:
- Core GCSEs minimum 5 of D and above
- GCSE C or above in Maths
Desirable:
- Two A levels or equivalent
Training provider:
- Full training will be provided on an ongoing daily basis and when required
- You will be working towards a NVQ L2 Admin qualification
- An assessor will be allocated to you to progress/help you through your course
- Continual assessment for NVQ's coupled with assignments/or exams depending on course of study
- Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week
