Lecturer in Biology (0.5)

An exciting appointment has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join a large and successful A level Biology department. Working closely with the team to deliver AS and A level Biology, candidates should possess a suitable biology degree and ideally have experience of teaching A level Biology. Based at the Gorseinon Campus the successful candidate will also possess a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. Some GCSE Biology teaching may also be required.

A confident communicator, you will have the ability to motivate and inspire students. You will have excellent classroom administration skills and be prepared to work flexibly to cover classes over a 5 day teaching week.

We are committed to developing our provision to be accessible to learners who wish to learn through the medium of Welsh, and therefore the ability to deliver bilingually or through the medium of Welsh would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful candidate will need to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) and be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check (formerly known as CRB) in line with the government’s safer recruitment guidelines.

The College also values the diversity of its workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 11 July 2018.

This is a part time role.
