Gower College Swansea has a well-established and outstanding reputation for Performing Arts Education.

We are currently seeking a talented Singing Lecturer to teach Technical Singing and provide repertoire coaching on our highly popular BTEC Performing Arts courses, and Level 4 CertHE Musical Theatre course. An important characteristic of the appointee will be the ability to act as Musical Director for a range of high calibre Theatre performances and concerts through the year.

Applicants for the post should:

• Be a highly skilled and enthusiastic Music Graduate
• Be able to inspire young people in the development of their Singing skills
• Have a sound working knowledge of vocal technique for musical theatre performers, ideally in reference to the Estill Model.
• Be a very proficient Pianist with an ability to Sight Read
• Have a proven background in the Musical Direction of high calibre public performance work
• Have an up to date knowledge of and active interest in the Musical Theatre genre
• Be equipped to undertake coaching for Specialist College auditions and to guide in the selection of appropriate repertoire

Due to the large number of our students at the College who aspire to Vocational Performing Arts Training, experience of having undertaken professional Theatre work is desirable.   This is a part time role.

The successful candidate will need to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) and be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
