HE Engineering Technician

Peterborough Regional College is a large, successful college of further and higher education. We currently have a permanent, part time opportunity for a Technician in the College’s Engineering Team supporting HE provision.

The working hours will usually 18.5 per week, working 38 weeks per year. The working hours must be flexible based on the needs of the HE students and may include occasional evening support. This position will be based at our Peterborough Park Crescent site. 

In this role you will provide support for HE students with their assessments and projects, and lecturers with practical teaching activities. You will be expected to:

• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Demonstrate and maintain test equipment.
• Order components for HE projects.

Your area of responsibility will vary so flexibility and the ability to prioritise are essential along with attention to detail.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths, along with a Level 4/HNC qualification in engineering/manufacturing and industry experience. You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to constantly seeking new business opportunities. This is a target driven role requiring a creative person that is driven to succeed. Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential along with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
