Peterborough Regional College is a large, successful college of further and higher education. We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Skills Trainer Assessor in Plumbing.

In this role you will be co-ordinating the apprentice’s programme, tying together all elements of the apprenticeship and assessing apprentices' competence in the workplace. You will act as the main point of contact for the apprentices and employers providing guidance and support and technical knowledge to develop the apprentices and ensure successful achievement.

The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the employers and their apprentices and you will therefore need to have a flexible approach.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths, along with a vocationally relevant qualification at a minimum of Level 3 and recent and relevant industry experience. Ideally you will also hold an assessing and or IQA qualification but this is not essential as the College will support you in achieving this as part of your professional development.

You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to securing timely apprenticeship achievement. You need to be confident in working autonomously and working away from the College site whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times. You will be a strong collaborator with exceptional communication skills (both verbally and written) as you will work closely with curriculum leads, tutors and employers.

*Market Allowance of £6,000 payable for holding Level 3 qualification.

The College offers many good employment benefits including 30 days holiday entitlement plus Christmas close down, access to the Local Government Pension scheme, and many on-site benefits and facilities, including a gym and on-site nursery. This position will be based at our Peterborough Park Crescent site.
