An exciting opportunity has become available for a Fashion teacher to join Coventry College on a fixed term contract up to 12 months.
In this role you will teach a range of Fashion courses currently being offered by the College. You will lead on our Fashion courses and be responsible for course organisation for the Level 3 Extended BTEC qualification. With excellent teaching skills and a strong vocational background, you will be familiar with textile techniques relevant to garment surface decoration and have a good working knowledge of all aspects of machine sewing.
In addition, you will have exceptional entrepreneurial skills within Fashion to be able to guide our students into the exciting world of Fashion Design.
To be successful in this role you must be educated to degree level in Fashion Design or have substantive relevant industry experience. It is essential that you have a teaching qualification at level 5 e.g. PGCE/Cert Ed/DTTLS or equivalent, and a Maths and English qualification at level 2.
With a teaching background in FE you will have experience of delivering BTEC qualifications. You must be familiar with industrial machinery and garment production, and have experience of pattern cutting.
You must have excellent communication and excellent organisational skills.
