Lecturer / Associate Lecturer in Animal Science

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Higher Education Animal team. Hartpury Animal provides a rich and vibrant environment in biological, pedagogic, companion animal, production animal, zoo animal, equine and veterinary teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate provision in animal science and therapy, animal behavior and welfare, anthrozoology, bioveterinary science and zoology. Our academic Animal team has strong relationships with animal charities, organisations and external agencies across the animal, equine and veterinary sectors. We possess a strong academic base in animal behaviour, performance and welfare, and are developing a reputation for human-animal interaction provision. We have extensive contacts across a range of animal industries, within education and sport. We also work collaboratively with academic institutions nationally and internationally, all of which supports vibrant and collaborative Animal Welfare, Equestrian Performance and Pedagogy research groups.

We are seeking an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Animal Science to complement the existing team. Within this role, you will need to strive to enable students to become the best they can be and aspire to offer them the opportunities and support to maximize their potential through access to inspirational, research informed and applied teaching and learning, that develops graduate attributes to enable them to succeed in the animal sector. Ideally you will have previous experience of teaching in Higher Education in a subject area aligned to animal science or animal therapy. You will also demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching, learning and promoting a positive student experience, with a collegiate approach to working. The successful candidate will possess a relevant postgraduate qualification, and demonstrate a willingness to develop a record of practice and scholarship aligned to the focus of the Animal Welfare Research and Knowledge Exchange Arena.
