The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories and training workshops.
As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers through teaching and other scholarly activities such as research and consultancy. Within your specialisation, you will be responsible for preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment; for the teaching of theory and practical aspects; supervising student project work; and contributing to the development of the UHI programmes. The post will also involve the development of, and delivery (potentially including limited in-country delivery) on, elements of our international programmes.
Opportunities for personal development are available through UHI and at other universities.
Candidates should as a minimum hold an Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline, with a Masters Degree or Doctorate a strong advantage. Previous teaching experience is desirable as is an ability to teach across a broad range of disciplines. Practical industrial experience would be a strong advantage.
In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. A strong customer-focus and an awareness of the engineering requirements of industry are essential. In addition, there may be a requirement to teach overseas.
