A fantastic opportunity to join the team at Headway Birmingham Head Office as Apprentice Administration Assistant providing general administrative support to the Sports, Fundraising and Lifestyle department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within administration.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming telephone calls, putting calls through and taking clear and concise messages as appropriate
- Creating documents such as posters, leaflets, letters, timetables and ensuring displays are maintained etc.
- Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and databases
- Maintaining the relevant filing systems within the department, ensuring all paperwork is up to date, completed fully and using the most recent document versions
- Photocopying as requested, printing leaflets and newsletters
- Attending meetings and taking minutes as required
- Ensuring departmental policies are up to date and available to those who need them
- Provide admin support to service areas as required/requested via Operations Manager
- To be part of the Headway team, contributing to wider activities by volunteering on at least one outside of hours event and one compulsory special fund raising event each year etc.
Desired skills:
- A good standard of English and ICT skills, able to use programmes such as Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications required:
- A GCSE grade D or equivalent in ICT and English are desirable.
