The High Arcal School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Teacher of Geography.
The High Arcal Schools vision is to become an outstanding school with outcomes for students above national averages. We are looking for an outstanding teacher of Geography, with a commitment to continuing professional development, to join our Geography Department. Geography remains a very popular option subject at KS4 and staff have high expectations of achievement for all. You would be required to teach Geography at KS3/4 with alongside other Humanities subjects at KS3.
The post is suitable for either an NQT or a more experienced candidate. NQTs teach a reduced timetable and follow an excellent, year-long induction programme led by a senior member of staff.
Humanities are at the heart of our curriculum and the school has invested heavily in this area over the past few years. The department has in the past received the geography quality mark and led trips and visits across the world helping students develop their cultural horizons. We are seeking to appoint a creative teacher who has a real enthusiasm and passion for the subject.
The successful candidate will need to be:
- An inspirational teacher who has the highest expectations of students.
- An excellent classroom practitioner with experience of teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4.
- Innovative and creative with excellent interpersonal skill.
- A motivational and inspirational leader that has the ability to work collaboratively with others in the department and across the Trust.
