Sales Ledger Apprentice (L2)

Working week: 35 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Friday 9.00am - 3.30-pm

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a small team within the Admin/Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will provide general support to the Manager


  • Running Sales ledger invoice run at least half hourly
  • Sorting post received in the morning/afternoon
  • Posting Sales ledger cheques received from customers
  • Posting Sales ledger BACS received from customers
  • Putting cheques into paying in book
  • Customer Credit notes processing
  • Posting cash sales cash
  • Overdraft figures and Account Balances - Should be weekly
  • Bank rec's GBP, USD & EURO – Adhoc/cover
  • Sales Ledger Month End Reconcilation
  • Reconciling the cash books against what has been posted
  • Scanning various documents into Filestream
  • Other associated duties and other ad hoc tasks to cover when other members of the team are absent due to training, annual leave or sickness

Desired skills:

  • Experience using a computer
  • Any work experience would be advantageous

  • Friendly and happy to work with a team
  • Good attitude to get stuck in
  • A desire to be on time and work hard when needed.

Desired qualifications:

  • GCSE A-C in maths & English or equivalent is required.

Training provider:

  • AAT Level 2
  • Functional Skills if necessary
  • On the job training
