Assistant Inventory Specialist Apprentice (L3)

Working week: 8.30am - 5.30pm, 40 hours per week

The Assistant Inventory Specialist position is a developmental opportunity for a bright individual with an interest in learning all aspects of the Supply Chain process within a fast-paced distribution business.


  • Raising of stock purchase orders in line with system recommendations
  • Order book management to ensure good accuracy of delivery dates
  • Contacting our suppliers to expedite customer orders, stock outs and potential stock outs via telephone and email
  • Managing recovery of priority stock outs
  • Requesting and executing return of slow moving/obsolete stock to suppliers
  • De-expediting purchase orders where stock requirement has changed and stock no longer immediately required
  • Ownership and resolution of delivery discrepancies
  • Updating acknowledgements onto the system (reviewing date, pricing, part and quantity)
  • Resolving invoice queries

Desired qualifications:

  • Must be educated to A Level Standard or equivalent.

Training provider:

You will be worling toward a Level 3 Business Standard, this may be accompanied with Functional Skills.
