Forward thinking, PCA is a creative community working across the fields of contemporary art, craft, design and media, with a focus on inquiry-led practice and integrated learning. The College puts the student at the centre of learning, and is committed to interdisciplinary dialogue and open resources, providing an exciting context for collaboration, network building, and professional opportunities.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, and inspirational leader to take on the new position of Director of Learning, Teaching & Enhancement. A priority for the Director of Learning, Teaching & Enhancement will be to work closely with the Vice Principals and Academic Dean to lead enhancement initiatives across the College that deliver the highest standards to teaching quality, the learning environment, student outcomes and satisfaction in alignment with the PCA Strategic Plan.

We are currently in the process of a comprehensive structural, technical and curricular review forming three new exciting Schools: Design + Communication, Arts + Media, and Critical + Cultural Studies (including the Graduate Centre). The Director of Learning, Teaching & Enhancement will be instrumental in the development, validation, and implementation of a common framework supporting a cross-College curricula to be launched in 2020. Given that this will be an intensive period of planning and development of our academic portfolio, the Director of Learning, Teaching & Enhancement will be charged with ensuring that learning, teaching, and enhancement is foregrounded in all that we do, and have demonstrable experience of integrating and leading teams, and developing robust structures, systems, and processes.

The Director of Learning, Teaching and Enhancement will be active in their field contributing to Plymouth College of Art’s emerging research culture, as well as engaging externally in the development of his/her subject area growing the external profile of PCA nationally and internationally.
