Functional Skills Co-ordinator

Westminster Adult Education Services are looking for a Functional Skills Co-ordinator to join the apprenticeship team to manage, deliver and assess learning in a variety of settings, including work place, college and online learning platforms. The role will involve the post holder to monitor the performance of all courses allocated, coordinate team meetings and to take an active role in curriculum planning alongside teaching to a high standard, allowing learners to progress and achieve as appropriate including preparing materials and differentiated products to meet the needs of learners.

Previous experience of delivering Functional Skills is essential. All applicants must hold a qualification in the subject they wish to assess higher than Level 2 and will have had adequate experience in the field.

As the Co-ordinator you will support Apprentices to become qualified and skilled individuals in Functional Skills Math’s, English and ICT is the key to this role. The Co-ordinator’s role works in an organised and structured process to provide an excellent learning experience building a solid mind-set around personal development and progression onto higher qualifications.

The successful candidate will improve learner success, retention and attendance rates. You will plan and facilitate relevant 1-2-1 and group sessions, ensure that learners work to their diagnostic targets with monthly monitoring and complete all learner journey paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.

If you have Level 2 English and Maths, or a relevant teaching or assessing qualification and you have experience of teaching, including apprenticeships, strong classroom management experience and ability to communicate at all levels and in varying situations then we would welcome your application.
