Apprentice Hair Stylist (L2)

Apprenticeship level: Intermediate

Apprenticeship duration: 12 months

Working week: Various working hours, 30 hours per week

This is an opportunity to work alongside a talented team in a friendly Hair Salon as a trainee stylist. You will also attend Dudley College one day per week to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing.

Qualifications required:

• GCSE A-D in maths and English would be preferable.

Training provider:

NVQ L2 in Hairdressing

The units making up the NVQ can be selected to fit with your apprentice’s job role. This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing is made up of a minimum of 54 credits, a minimum of 9 units, 8 mandatory units and a minimum of 6 credits from the optional Units

• Mandatory Units - All 8 units must be completed

• Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
• Advise and Consult with Clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Style and finish hair
• Set and Dress Hair
• Cut hair using basic techniques
• Sample Units Group A - Optional Units
• Perm and Neutralise Hair
• Fulfil Salon Reception Duties
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness
