In this role, you complete the initial visit to employers, provide guidance on how work experience can be developed within their organisation, check the health and safety in the work place and create job descriptions for work experience opportunities. In addition, you may be asked to identify potential employers for specific curriculum areas. You will not be directly working with students as this role is employer facing.
The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary dependent upon the needs of the College and/or the employer. The successful candidate will be based at our main college campus; however this role will involve you lone working the majority of the time.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, IT Level 2 qualification or equivalent and a minimum of IOSH Working Safely qualification. A full driving licence is required as you will be visiting employers on a daily basis. You may be required to use your own vehicle if a college vehicle is not available.
You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to identify new work experience opportunities. This is a target driven role requiring a creative person that is driven to succeed. Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential along with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
The College offers many good employment benefits including 30 days holiday entitlement plus Christmas close down (or additional payment for hourly employees), access to the Local Government Pension scheme, and many on-site benefits and facilities, including a gym and on-site nursery.
