Peterborough sits within a Higher Education Cold Spot and is one of the largest conurbations in the UK without a university. The creation of a University in the City is a longstanding aspiration which forms part of the devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The establishment of the proposed University is a long term undertaking, which will be built on the current activities of the University Centre Peterborough (UCP). Our vision is for Peterborough to establish a thriving, independent, campus-based university with an undergraduate population of 12,500 students, which will become a powerhouse for economic and intellectual growth, outward looking but rooted in the ingenuity and diversity of its people. A crucial contributor to lead in the development of higher education staff and students in the creation of an established research community at the institution.

The post will support and guide staff in making successful HEA Fellowship Applications as well as developing a strong basis for the writing and publication of research interests. Pedagogic scholarship and research is one area of interest, as is the opportunity to develop effective partnerships across the Peterborough community so that strong collaborative research networks are created amongst stakeholders. This post will support the application and ambition of UCP to achieve Degree Awarding Powers and ultimately University Title.

This post is a fixed term contract until 31st October 2019 working part-time with a 3 day working pattern (pro rata 0.6).

Educated to Level 7 (Master’s Degree or a relevant Professional Qualification), HEA recognition (Senior Fellowship) (Senior successful candidates will have evidence of a current research profile (publications within the last 3 years), experience of the mentoring and coaching of peers and developing research networks with stakeholders/industry.
