Apply your Early Years experience and knowledge, and management skills, to an Outstanding college.

Weston College is seeking to appoint a progressive and inspirational subject area manager to lead a team of academic staff in the successful delivery and development of a high-quality, learner-centred Early Years provision. You will be managing a successful team that is looking to further grow and develop our curriculum, whilst ensuring that we continue to widen our close industrial ties with the sector, for the benefit of our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to fully embrace the 'can do' culture and positive ethos of the College, and who is passionate about learning and committed to supporting all learners to realise their potential and ambitions within the Early Years sector.

As the ideal candidate, you will be learner-focused and committed to ensuring that learners have an outstanding learning experience, achieve their full potential, and make progress. In addition, as post-holder, you will carry a teaching commitment and you will be a representative of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) and the College Middle Management Team (MMT).

You will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding and recent experience of the Early Years subject area.
  • Have relevant successful teaching experience in the discreet curriculum area.
  • Hold a Degree (or equivalent level qualification), which is appropriate to the work.
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced within current teaching and learning strategies.

This is an exciting time to join Weston College. The College is Ofsted 'Outstanding', its Higher Education provision is graded 'Gold' by the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF), and Weston College has recently won the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, one of only two Further Education colleges in the country to be awarded this prestigious honour. Furthermore, the College is an Investors in People 'Champion' and has been awarded 'Gold' by Investors in People, which demonstrates Weston College's commitment to invest in our staff to improve performance.

Weston College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Please be aware that Weston College reserves the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.
