The College has distinct ambitions to expand its choice of programmes and services to meet the needs of the local community and support the economic transformation of Wigan and surrounding areas.

The College has created a community that encourages all students to enhance their learning through wider opportunities and support services; to maximise their achievements and secure progression onto further study and employment.

Wigan and Leigh College are looking to appoint a highly motivated and creative Trainer Assessor/Lecturer to deliver the NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems as part of the Electrical Installation apprenticeship framework, delivered jointly between the Engineering Department and Business Services (assessing apprentices in the workplace). The College is an exciting place to work as the provision expands and the delivery of Electrical Installation is key to this development.

A Trainer Assessor/Lecturer will be required to carry out workplace reviews and set action plans for learners. They will undertake the assessment of all tasks to achieve the competency elements of our current Electrical Frameworks. The successful candidate will also deliver the knowledge element of the framework to students in the classroom as required.

In addition, as we move toward the apprenticeship reforms and new standards, our Assessors will be involved in further developing our offer in conjunction with employer partners and awarding bodies.

Wigan & Leigh College’s philosophy is outstanding teaching and high achievement to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work. Our staff play a key role in this aim, working with employers and apprentices in the workplace and delivering high quality teaching in the classroom.

The College reserves the right to interview for this post should we receive suitable candidates prior to the closing date.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check.
