We are pleased to say that we are opening the doors at our Sussex Study Centre, to a passionate and driven Tutor, interested in joining our talented STEM team on a part time permanent basis.

What is this role and where does it fit in?

The University of Sussex ISC is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive tutor in computer science to confidently deliver pre-masters, undergraduate and foundation teaching. The ability to teach programming in Java at undergraduate level is essential. In addition, the ability to teach modules on robotics and machine learning would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximising students’ learning and achievement and in ensuring a positive student experience. They will also be expected to take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of some modules.

 What experience do you need?

  • Candidates should hold a minimum of a Masters degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Previous teaching experience that includes the designing and delivery of content.
  • A teaching qualification would be advantageous to this role.
  • A student-centred approach, good interpersonal, IT, and organisational skills are essential.
  • We are seeking an individual who is passionate about contributing to our courses and a strong team-player.
  • Experience of teaching students within an international context is also highly desirable.

Where is this role based?

This role is based at the University of Sussex International Study Centre. The campus offers a unique combination of tranquillity and energy. The centre is surrounded by a beautiful national park, yet at the same time we are a short train or bus journey from Brighton. Brighton has fantastic transport links, so you'll easily be able to explore the rest of the UK and Europe.
