Here at Peterborough Regional College we are always on the lookout for talented and enthusiastic individuals. We want lecturers who inspire our learners who can coach and develop them with the necessary skills they need to go on and have a successful career in their chosen field. The key responsibilities in our lecturing roles include:
- Delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment.
- Guiding and supporting learners, providing pastoral support and care.
- Providing appropriate assignment material for each programme and developing our contextual learning.
- Monitoring the progress, retention and achievement of learners.
Within Business and Technology we deliver a range of study programmes from pre-GCSE through to post graduate level covering subjects from Business, Accounting, and Management so the opportunities to develop and support our learners are broad.
To become a lecturer within Business you will need at least a degree qualification in your specialism, along with industry experience. You’ll need good organisational and planning skills, patience and the ability to adapt and use a variety of teaching and learning methods to motivate and inspire our learners to exceed expectations. You don’t need a teaching background as support is given to achieve your Level 5 teaching qualification.
We support a range of working opportunities from full time, part time and casual hourly contracts.
*The starting salary for non-qualified lecturer within Business and Technology ranges from £24,915 rising to £27,281 on achieving your teaching qualifications (2 year course). Once you have qualified there is opportunity to progress your career within the College and our Curriculum Leaders top salary point is £34,430 per annum. In addition there may be an additional payment of £1,632 per annum market rate allowance for holding specific qualifications e.g. accountancy.
