A position has become available working within the Student Services Department in the College at our Ardleigh Green Campus. As an experienced and motivated Student Development Worker you will have excellent communication skills, a good knowledge and understanding of issues affecting young people and ability to engage positively with learners. The role involves supporting learners to achieve their chosen qualifications by providing personal/emotional support and running programmes to develop motivational skills, coping strategies and self-confidence. This includes facilitating the student LGB&T group.
The post holder will proactively engage with learners and be able to work independently with young people within the busy Common Room / informal areas, initiating and overseeing a wide range of enrichment activities. You will be expected to deliver group tutorials in the classroom on a range of topics and as part of the team organise and deliver awareness activities and events. The role includes effectively responding to safeguarding issues, recording and monitoring concerns using an electronic system and liaising with relevant outside agencies.
