Heating & Ventilation Apprentice (L2)

Apprenticeship duration: 24 months

Possible start date: 4th April 2018

Working week: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.00pm, 37.5 hours per week

TDR would like to employ an apprentice Heat and Vent engineer to train up to a fully qualified engineer. This position would be more suitable for 18+ candidates due to the nature of work and job role. Some experience or Plumbing level 1, would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the foreman
• Unloading ools
• Setting out bracketry/pipework with engineer
• Onsite installation
• Coordination of subcontractors
• Cutting pipework
• Soldering/jointing copper

Desired skills:

• Plumbing experience (Level 1 preferred)
• Local (desirable)
• Drive (desirable)

Qualifications required:

• A-C English and Maths or equivalent.

Training provider:

Shadowing engineer with on-the-job training.

Full training will be provided on an ongoing daily basis and when required. You will be required to attend college premises 1 day a week working towards a NVQ qualification. An assessor will be allocated to you to progress/help you through you course. Continual assessment for NVQ’s coupled with assignments/or exams depending on course of study. Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week.
