University of Huddersfield Pre – Sessional Programme Summer 2018

Are you looking for a pre-sessional contract that offers more than just a few weeks teaching?

Would you like to be involved with a centre that takes pride in developing their pre-sessional staff, whilst conducting a well-structured and less demanding way of teaching?

Would you like to spend some time in a traditional Yorkshire town full of culture?

It’s that exciting time of year when we open up our doors to some of the most talented, motivated, and passionate teachers from all over the country! The International Study Centre at the University of Huddersfield is currently taking applications for EAP tutors for our busy pre-sessional English programme starting on June 4th and running for 12 weeks till August 24th, including one week for marking till Aug. 31st st. Tutors are required for any of the 4 intakes at 12, 8, 6 and 4 weeks and must be available for the duration of the course once started.

Who are we?

We are the University of Huddersfield International Study Centre. In partnership with the University of Huddersfield, we are a successful Study Centre, working with a large number  of students from all over the world , full of talented teaching enthusiasts and a key part of the global Study Group network!

What we are looking for from you?

We’d love to welcome candidates that have a clear passion for International Education, as well as a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn and develop. We take pride in providing the highest quality of teaching to our students, so we would also like to see the following qualifications and experience:

  • A related degree and a  CELTA or Trinity College Cert.
  • Substantial experience of teaching EAP with preferably DELTA, Trinity College Dip. TESOL or a PGCE including TESOL with related experience.

As well as team working skills, applicants must be able to work efficiently toward strict deadlines for setting and marking course work and assessments. Tutors will be expected to prepare lessons effectively, participate in weekly staff meetings, communicate well to course leaders,   administrative staff and students and keep up with all administrative duties.
