Apprentice Toolmaker (L3)

Working week: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm, 39 hours per week

An excellent opportunity to become an engineering apprentice to join established toolmakers in Stourbridge. This vacancy would suit someone who has engineering / machining experience and are looking to further their career with practical experience.


  • Study of modern state of the art toolmaking within the automotive production technology industry.

  • CAD/CAM package
  • CNC Machine tools
  • Conventional Millers / Lathes Assembly / Fitting
  • You will work closely with engineers and senior toolmakers to develop your skill to a high a degree of accuracy.

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE at Grade C or above (or equivalent) one of which must be Maths.
  • NVQ / BTEC Level 2 in engineering is desirable but not essential

Training provider:

For the ECMS Level 3 Toolmaker Apprenticeship:

  • Training will take place at Dudley College which will be 2 days a week in the first year then 1 day a week in the remaining 2 years
  • Functional Skills will also be included as part of the learning programme at College
  • In addition, assessors will visit learners at their workplace as part of their continual assessment
