Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, we are looking for a Lecturer in Construction to join our team in Aylesbury. You will be expected to teach at all levels, appropriate to qualifications and experience, within the relevant Team and elsewhere within the College as required.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide high quality teaching in the subject areas required, given the resources available and within the agreed and approved current timetable, with due recognition of the relevant syllabus and course specifications, including the necessary preparation of teaching notes, handouts and visual aids where required.
- Ensure records of student achievements are maintained as required by the sector and relevant external bodies.
- Maintain a knowledge of new developments in the curriculum, courses and teaching practices and keep course material.
- Provide active support to individual students.
We expect candidates to have a:
- Level 3 qualification in relevant subject area.
- Teaching qualification/ or willingness to obtain designated teaching qualification within specified time.
- Maths and English qualification to Level 2 or higher.
- Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or willingness to work towards.
- Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice (CLIQA) or willingness to work towards.
- An in-depth and practical knowledge of a range of construction trades.
- Knowledge of current qualification structure.
- Knowledge of issues affecting Further Education.
- An understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, safeguarding children and young people (Every Child Matters) and vulnerable adults.
