Working week: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.00pm, Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm, 37 hours per week
An exciting opportunity to join SiL Enterprise Ltd as an Apprentice Tool and Die Maker. Through workplace mentoring and day release at college, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to safely and effectively operate as an Apprentice Toolmaker.
Ultimately, it would be intended that the candidate learns all areas of the design and manufacture of tools, patterns and fixtures.
Responsibilities:
- The successful applicant will be primarily involved the production of tooling, jigs, fixtures, models
- Create patterns to information provided
- Trained to use and work using hand tools and manual operated machinery
- Follow instructions
- Produce precision tooling, jigs
- Produce models and fixtures
- Work for various market sectors

- Numeracy and literacy
- Basic engineering knowledge or interest
- Ability to work within a team and on one’s own initiative
- Practically minded

Qualifications required:
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent, at Grade A* to C
Training provider:
For the ECMS Level 3 Tool & Die Apprenticeship:
- EAL Level 2 Technical Certificate in year 1
- Training will take place at Dudley College which will be 2 days a week in the first year then 1 day a week in the remaining 2 years
- Functional Skills will also be included as part of the learning programme at College
- In addition, assessors will visit learners at their workplace as part of their continual assessment
