Employability Cover Tutor (HMP Durham)

Following the re-roll of HMP Durham to a Reception Centre, we now require cover tutors who have different skill sets to other establishments on an ADHOC basis. We are looking for staff who are creative, adaptable, flexible and resilient as well as having the confidence, positivity, commitment, and willingness to deliver across a wide range of the curriculum within our Academy based model. Our main ethos at HMP Durham is one of engagement and motivation for our learners so they want to progress and engage with their education or employment on transfer to another establishment or on release into the community.

You will join our Academy Model provision as an Employability Cover Tutor. The purpose of this role is to teach and engage with our learners, in order to give them the skills they need to have a better and brighter future. To do this successfully you'll need to:

• Be passionate and experienced at delivering high quality teaching in a subject specialism.
• Have a teaching qualification and/or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
• Have a previous experience of curriculum delivery and a track record of successful learner outcomes.
