HMYOI Cookham Wood, Rochester, is a custodial establishment for Young People, aged between the ages of 15 and 18.  There are currently around 170 young people in the YOI with an operational capacity of 186. All young people work towards English and Maths qualifications, as well as ICT, PSD, and vocational pathways which include construction, creative arts, healthy living, customer service, catering and horticulture. We also offer an Advice and Guidance service which helps our young people with post release opportunities.

We currently have a great opportunity at HMYOI Cookham Wood to join the education team as an Admin Co-ordinator on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive and effective administration service that supports the delivery of the education contract and provide and maintain effective and efficient data relating to finance, personnel and learners. Where an administration team is in place, you will effectively plan and manage the deployment of the administration team of staff. 

To do this successfully you'll need:

  • A track record of effective and efficient administration within a busy office environment.
  • Have the ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper-based data recording systems.
  • Have experience of effectively managing a team in an office environment.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
