This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Student Services team providing an outstanding service for the assessment of student additional needs, support and guidance, aligned to Suffolk New College’s strategic aims and advising on requirements in relation to the 0–25 SEND Code of Practice 2014.
Working closely with programme teams and external agencies you will support and improve student retention and achievement in line with the college KPI’s.
You will be required to provide support to students with specific needs and disabilities, including completing assessments of needs, advising on support to be provided, contributing as appropriate to Education and Health Care Plans, carrying out exam concession assessments, annual reviews, transition reviews, and arranging referrals for more specialist advice.
You will have excellent knowledge of the requirements for education providers arising from the 0–25 SEND Code of Practice 2014, supported by a good standard of education including maths and English at GCSE C grade or equivalent, a relevant degree or equivalent in demonstrable experience and a Level 7 Specialist Assessment and Access arrangements qualification.
